RACHR instructors conducted an on-site course on “Search and Rescue Operations in Mountainous Forests” for rescuers from Armenia’s Syunik Marz. The training took place in the city of Goris and was attended by 12 members of the local rescue unit.

During the training, participants developed practical skills in using rope equipment, learned basic rescue knots, first aid, and radio communication and signaling in mountainous terrain. Special attention was paid to the basics of topography and navigation.

The practical part of the course included practicing crossing mountain rivers and gorges, as well as transporting victims in difficult terrain.

Conducting such on-site training allows us to improve the level of preparedness of rescuers in remote regions of Armenia and hone their emergency response skills in mountainous forests.
