Basics of Wildland Fire Suppression
Basics of Wildland Fire Suppression

The program is designed to train specialists in the suppression of wildland (natural) fires and the mitigation of their consequences. The training is intended for emergency service personnel, rescuers, and members of emergency response units involved in responding to wildfires.
During the course, participants develop practical skills in fire reconnaissance, situation assessment, and selection of suppression tactics. This includes the use of hand tools and equipment, conducting controlled burning (backfiring), as well as ensuring safety while operating in conditions of rapidly spreading fire and natural environments.
