On October 2, students from School №21 of Yerevan visited the Russian-Armenian Center of Humanitarian Response. RACHR staff organized an interactive open doors day, showcasing rescue equipment and gear.
The kids learned about the causes of residential fires and the mandatory actions to take in case of their occurrence, after which those who wished tried to extinguish flames using fire extinguishers and a fire hose. Navigating the maze inside the smoke chamber became a true adventure. At the climbing wall, the kids tested high-altitude skills and rappelled down from the top floor using mountaineering gear. They also learned about rescue UAVs and practiced piloting on a flight simulator.
At the end of the program, instructors gave everyone a ride on ATVs.
