RACHR instructors conducted an outreach training course on “Conducting Search and Rescue Operations in Mountain and Forest Terrain” for rescuers from Armenia’s Tavush Province. The training was held in the city of Ijevan and was attended by 12 personnel from local rescue units.

During the training, participants practiced working with rope rescue equipment, learned basic rescue knots, and covered first aid, radio communications, and signaling procedures in mountainous terrain. Particular attention was given to the fundamentals of topography and land navigation.

The practical component of the course included exercises on rescuer movement across challenging mountainous terrain and casualty transportation.

Outreach training programs of this kind contribute to strengthening the professional preparedness of rescuers in Armenia’s remote regions and enhancing their ability to respond effectively to emergencies in mountain and forest terrain.
