26 June 2026

A week-long course on “Search and Rescue Operations in Mountainous Forest Areas” was completed in the Syunik region by RACHR instructors for regional rescue unit personnel.
One of the key modules of the program was training drone operators. Rescuers practiced using UAVs to survey hard-to-reach areas, search for simulated victims, and transmit their location coordinates to headquarters.
Students also learned rope handling, basic rescue knots, the basics of topography and navigation, first aid, and radio communication and signaling in mountainous terrain. The practical portion of the course included organizing river crossings and gorges, as well as transporting victims in difficult terrain.
