RACHR Conducts Training on Firefighting in Metro Stations and Underground Car Parks

RACHR conducted a training course entitled “Firefighting in Metro Stations and Underground Car Parks.” The theoretical sessions covered the layout and characteristics of metro facilities, communication systems, ventilation, and fire protection systems for rolling stock.
Particular attention was paid to the development of fires in underground structures, the responsibilities of officials in organizing firefighting operations, the deployment of firefighting resources, smoke extraction, smoke control and ventilation management, and the organization of the incident command post. The sessions also addressed fire safety in underground car parks located in residential buildings and shopping centres.
The practical session took place at night at Druzhba Metro Station in Yerevan. Participants familiarized themselves with the station’s fire safety conditions and firefighting systems and practised responding to a fire scenario during practical exercise. Such training helps strengthen professional skills and improve personnel readiness to respond to fires in complex underground facilities.
