Rescuers from ICDO member countries began training at RACHR

The international training programme “Conducting Search and Rescue Operations in Blockages, Collapsed Buildings and Structures” has started at the Russian-Armenian Center of Humanitarian Response. Representatives of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO) member states from Algeria, Armenia, Egypt, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Mongolia, Oman, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia and Syria have arrived at the Center to participate in the course.

Over the next two weeks, 12 specialists will enhance their professional competencies under the guidance of RACHR instructors. The programme combines theoretical instruction with two extensive practical training modules.

The first module focuses on the use of hydraulic, pneumatic and hydro-dynamic rescue equipment during operations in natural and man-made collapse scenarios. Participants will develop practical skills in the application of specialized rescue tools and study their effective deployment under various emergency conditions.

The second practical module is dedicated to the principles and techniques of moving heavy and oversized loads using improvised means and mountaineering equipment, with particular emphasis on safety requirements. This part of the programme also includes practical exercises involving crane operations.

Upon completion of the course, participants will undergo a final assessment consisting of a theoretical examination and a night-time practical exercise conducted at the RACHR multipurpose training complex.
