What to do if you fall on the subway tracks

In big cities, during rush hour, a large number of people gather in the subway, which form a pandemonium before the arrival of an electric train. Therefore, you may become a participant in an accident.

What to do in this case:

  • The first and most important thing is not to panic!
  • Do not try to return to the platform on your own. Because there is a contact rail on the edge of the platform, along which a voltage of up to 1000 V.
  • If the train is not in sight yet, you need to run in the opposite direction. At the same time, shout to people to contact the metro staff and report the incident.
  • If you don’t know which way the train will go, you should ask people!
  • You need to make it to the stop lane (black and white rail), where the driver stops the train. The probability of injury in this case is already close to zero.

If you fell in front of an oncoming train

It takes several tens of meters for the train to stop completely.

Your necessary actions:

  • You need to lie down in the track tray, which is located between the rails. The width and height of the track is more than 50 centimeters. Remember that the wagons and the rolling stock itself do not have suspension mechanisms at the bottom of the train.
  • It is recommended to lie down with your head against the train, because your clothes may be lifted by the flow of the train.
  • During the approach of the train, group up, cover your head with your hands, press your legs tightly together.
  • Do not panic when you are under a subway train. Do not be afraid of noise and sparks.
  • Do not try to get out from under the wagons on your own, stay in place.
  • Wait for help! They will definitely help you.

Recommendation: you need to stand far away from the boundary line on the platform. Anyone who stands close to the line can become a victim of inadequate people. Stand in the middle of the platform and wait for the train, and then enter the carriage.
