A RACHR instructor delivered an on-site training session for eight rescue workers from the search and rescue unit of the Ararat Province of the Republic of Armenia.
During the session, participants studied the types of wildfires, their characteristics and patterns of spread. Modern technologies and methods for extinguishing wildfires, their causes and the most effective methods of containment were also examined.
The practical part of the training included practising deployment plans for personnel and equipment, as well as working with fire and rescue equipment used in extinguishing wildfires. In particular, the rescue workers practised organising the supply of water from a remote source.
The training was aimed at improving the readiness of rescue units to respond to wildfires and enhancing the practical skills of the personnel.
