RACHR instructors completed the «Avalanche Safety Fundamentals during the ASR» training course. Eight employees of the Rescue Service of the MIA of Armenia from the Aragatsotn region completed the training.
The program combined theory and practical training: assessing avalanche conditions, choosing safe routes, managing movement on a slope, search and rescue algorithms, and using specialized equipment. A separate section was devoted to first aid using the ITLS protocol, hypothermia treatment, and resuscitation.
During practice rescuers practiced searching for victims using digital and analog avalanche transceivers and probes, as well as coordinating with the emergency response team. Such skills are essential for mountainous Armenia and directly impact the speed and effectiveness of rescue efforts.
