Basics of Gas and Smoke Protection Work during a Fire

Another group of specialists from the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ rescue service completed a firefighter training course at the Center’s universal simulator complex.

The training, which closely approximated the actual working conditions of gas and smoke protection personnel, was of particular value to the trainees. During the training, the students practiced searching for victims in heavy smoke, deploying effective hose lines, and extinguishing fires in high-heat-flow combustion simulators.

Another important aspect of the program included learning methods for evacuating victims and firefighter self-rescue from a fire using rope equipment and specialized devices.
