On April 9, 2024, the correspondence part of the educational program of the Ivanovo Fire and Rescue Academy of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia to improve the qualifications of combat training instructors was held via videoconference.
One of the speakers was the chief specialist-instructor of professional training of the RACHR Dmitry Bolshakov. He presented several presentations and videos devoted to the problems of modern fires and an analysis of the causes of death of firefighters using statistics from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH).
His report sparked a lively debate among the participants who represented different units of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and rescue teams. In particular, the possibilities of using data from NIOSH in training Russian firefighters were discussed, and various rules of behavior for firefighters in emergency situations were also considered.
The practical part of the educational program will take place at the Ivanovo Fire and Rescue Academy from April 22 to April 26, 2024.
