During the week, at the training base of the Center, the specialists of the rescue service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia were preparing to carry out rescue operations in the rubble, destroyed buildings and structures.
The principles of organizing and conducting rescue operations based on the INSARAG methodology in the field of urban search and rescue were considered. The course included theoretical and practical training on the use of unmanned aerial systems, various types of rescue tools and specialized communications equipment. They were trained in unblocking the victims, making openings in structures, lifting and moving structural elements using a set of special accessories. Also, students were able to test their skills in overcoming obstacles in cramped conditions, extracting victims from rubble and using specialized means to evacuate victims from the upper floors of destroyed buildings.
The course ended with a theoretical exam and a comprehensive practical session. Those who successfully passed the exam received certificates of the Center on completion of training.
