Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations transfers fire and rescue equipment and vehicles to Armenia

In the period from March 30 to 31, Vladimir Solovyov, Director of the Department of International Activities of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, paid a working visit to the Republic of Armenia.
Within the framework of the visit, in order to strengthen mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation and increase the effectiveness of humanitarian response, the transfer of rescue equipment and vehicles for the needs of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia took place.
Two planes with special vehicles, as well as sets of emergency rescue tools, arrived in the Republic of Armenia. The equipment will be used to protect the population and territories of a friendly country from fires, emergencies and natural disasters.
Bilateral cooperation between countries and the interaction of rescuers has been going on for more than a year as part of the work of the joint Russian-Armenian Center of Humanitarian Response. The Center has been operating in the region since 2015 and implements interdepartmental tasks at the international level. The emergency departments of the two countries are constantly cooperating in mutual training of specialists and holding international exercises.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia, Acting Minister of Emergency Situations of Armenia Armen Pambukhchyan thanked the Russian side for active and fruitful cooperation, in particular, he highly appreciated the contribution to the development and equipping of the Russian-Armenian Center of Humanitarian Response.< br />
Armen Pambukhchan expressed confidence that the cooperation will be long-term, he also touched upon joint projects, the timing and possibilities of their implementation. The parties discussed the program for the construction of a multifunctional hangar complex on the territory of the RACHR.
