The reason is not an emergency, but cooperation with Russian colleagues. During the visit, the guests will get acquainted with the emergency equipment of the Southern Regional Search and Rescue Team, as well as exchange experience with Russian employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The Russian-Armenian Center of Humanitarian Response was opened in 2016. Collaboration includes the exchange of experience between employees. Specialists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia come to Russia for training and retraining.

“Starting from last year, our rescuers have been training. They are undergoing mountain training both at the Academy of Civil Protection and at rescue centers. Right now, 10 of our employees are training in Krasnaya Polyana.”
SARGIS KYUREGYAN, DEPUTY HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT OF THE RESCUE SERVICE OF THE MES OF ARMENIA

The purpose of the visit of the leadership of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia is to get acquainted with the emergency equipment that is supplied to them from Russia. The guests have already visited the Central Division of the Southern Regional Search and Rescue Squad. They were shown skiing equipment, fire fighting equipment, diving equipment, vehicles. Also, rescuers from Armenia were able to get acquainted with the unique pressure chamber, which is presented only in Sochi and Khabarovsk.

“If you need a long stay for the treatment of decompression illnesses, then for this we have a chamber where four bedridden patients can be put. We can also carry out treatment after a fire. If people died in a fire, then here we can carry out oxygen measures in order to alleviate the condition so that people return to normal faster.”
VLADIMIR SOLOPOV, ENGINEER OF STATIONARY BARO-COMPLEX OF THE SRSRT OF EMERCOM OF RUSSIA

The standard time spent in such a pressure chamber is up to two or three days. There was a single case when the duration of therapeutic decompression was 9 days. The victim was paralyzed to the waist, and got out of there on his own.

“This is what a stationary pressure chamber looks like. There is a bathroom, in the main compartment there is everything for recovery and test training: emergency communications, an oxygen mask. Up to 12 people can fit in the pressure chamber at the same time.”
